Farming, Food, and Fun: A Family Cooperative Kids Activity Week

Most of America’s children think that their food originates in the grocery store. Most of America’s children have never picked fresh vegetables, nor tasted food within minutes of its harvest. Increasingly, fruits and vegetables consumed by Americans on the Atlantic Coast were produced and harvested in the central valley of California. The Farming, Food, and Fun activity week aims to expose children to pesticide free production of vegetables on Maryland’s Eastern Shore, and involve them in the harvest, preparation and consumption of those vegetables.

June 30 - July 4, 2008. 9:00 AM - 12:30 PM daily

We are still looking for a few more families to participate. Click here for more information.

Per our practice in 2007, we'll start at 7:00 PM with some very basic instruction, then we'll walk for about 15 minutes to a nearby field, sit for another fifteen minutes, and then retrace our steps to the place of origin.
If the weather is nice, bring a snack and a lawn chair to enjoy the sunset (8:33 PM) and full moon rise (9:00PM) after the meditation. No meditation experience required.
Rain or shine. If the weather is bad we'll stay indoors and make the best of it.
