Our Annual Appeal - Colchester Cares

Dear Friends,

Throughout the holidays, as each of us seeks the true meaning of this season of giving, we are drawn to the needs of those less fortunate. The nightly news is full of the heartbreak of civil war, terrorist attacks in distant cities, and assaults on our natural environment. What can we possibly do to make a difference?

From our little corner of the world, the heartbreak of families struggling to put food on the table will never make the evening news. But even if hunger in Kent County is hard to see, it's no less real. And it's right here, in your local community, that you can make a difference. Every day, there are angels among us who recognize that need and who do what they can to provide fresh, nutritious food to those who would otherwise do without. In that spirit, Colchester Farm invites you to join a new initiative called Colchester Cares. Please be an angel by helping us help others.

Each week during the growing season, Colchester Farm donates surplus produce to the local Food Pantry, but that effort does not make a dent in the demand for fresh vegetables for our neighbors who struggle to put food on the table.

Colchester Cares is designed to fill that gap by providing local families with healthy, seasonal produce that they can count on every week.

Our goal is to raise $2,500 - enough to support three large full-season shares, or 42 units of vegetables to help feed nine Kent County families in need throughout the growing season.

Please give generously, and know that all donated food will be grown and distributed locally. Your gift is tax-deductible, and life-changing.

We wish you all the best this holiday season and into the new year.
